Public Realm Installation for National Trust Neptune Coastline Campaign 2015
YOU&ME designed an Urban Beach at Acklam Road, Portobello for InTRANSIT Festival 2015. The public realm installation celebrates 50 years of the National Trust’s Neptune Coastline Campaign, protecting some 750 miles of Britain’s coastline. Hosting a series of engaging community participatory events and film screenings, the design comprises of a series of interactive ‘stage set’ components which create a British seaside diorama, featuring dunes, large scale scenic recreations, sandcastles, beach huts, lighthouse, deck chairs, bunting and donkey rides. The project has been developed in association with InTRANSIT, National Trust, English Heritage, Arts Council England and LB Kensington & Chelsea.
