Barking Town Centre Regeneration

YOU&ME worked with London Borough of Barking and Dagenham on their regeneration programme to improve the appearance of Barking Town Centre.

The proposals seek to improve key nodes, points of arrival and first impressions of the High Street, creating an identity and sense of place for Barking. We are concentrating on the areas in and around Barking train station and also the approach from Barking Abbey Grounds. Works include improvements to the vacant Bull Pub, the Station Florist and the shopping parade opposite the train station.

These improvement works will act as catalysts for further regeneration and provide a strong legacy to the area.

The project was funded through the Mayor’s Outer London Fund and is part of a larger programme to strengthen the vibrancy, character and economic vitality of London’s high streets and town centres.
